Important Notice – Your Child’s Images & Privacy
Student privacy is non-negotiable.
With recent industry headlines and online speculation about how student images may be handled, we want to be crystal clear: United Portraits never shares student images with third parties. We operate 100% on our own software, in company-owned facilities, with production handled entirely in Arizona. We are not owned by private equity—and your students’ images remain under our control from capture to delivery.
Student Image Privacy & Data Stewardship
Families and schools trust us with something personal: student images and limited student data needed to fulfill school photography services. We take that responsibility seriously—especially when industry headlines raise questions about who can access student images and how they might be used.
Our Privacy Promise
We do not sell, or share student images with third parties except your school. Period.
Student images are used only to deliver school photography services—such as proofing, ordering, and production—under the direction of the school and families.
Why our model is different
Many vendors rely on layered third-party systems: outside labs, outsourced customer support, contracted production, or software owned/hosted by external partners.
United Portraits is built the opposite way:
-
100% company-owned software — We built and own our systems, end to end.
-
Company-owned facilities — Our operations and production are handled in our own facilities.
-
Arizona production — Printing, packaging, and fulfillment are performed here in Arizona.
-
No private equity ownership — We’re independently operated, with no private-equity affiliation.
This structure reduces risk and limits access. Fewer handoffs. Fewer vendors. More control.
How we protect access
We design our process so that access is limited to what’s needed to do the job:
-
Role-based access for team members who must handle images for production and support
-
Operational controls to limit internal access and reduce unnecessary copying/exporting
-
School-aligned use — images are handled for school photography needs, not unrelated purposes
Transparency you can ask for
We welcome privacy questions. Schools can request:
-
A plain-English overview of where images are stored and who can access them
-
A description of our production workflow (capture → proofing → printing → delivery)
-
A confirmation of our “no third-party sharing” stance in writing
If you’re evaluating vendors right now and want to understand how student images are handled, we’re happy to walk you through our process.
